Though they're actually pretty fun dreams.
Apart from when this dude in my history class cut off one my ringlets, I got knacked for that :<

WHat could these wierd dreams mean?

why 0.999... = 1

x = 0.999...
10x = 9.999...
10x - x = 9.999... - 0.999...
9x = 9
x = 1
0.999... = 1

The flaw here of course, is that 0.999... is an irrational number and cannot be used in the same way as rational numbers.

Here's an arcane mathematics thought; let I = infinity. We all know the math behind this; for all numbers X, I / X = I, I - X = I, I * X = I, etc. But all that can be easily represented with a simple algorithm:

For all numbers X and infinity I, all mathematical operations involving I will result in I.

Basic logic, right? But, technically, infinity isn't a number. It's a concept, like zero; a concept useful in certain mathematics and logic functions due to its abnormal properties. And yet, I can't help by think that there is a number somewhere out there that also goes on forever...Oh yea, pi.

Pi also goes on forever, although we round it to 3.14 for use in computers (as computers can't comprehend complex concepts like infinity and would attempt to calculate it, making the computer worthless). But as I said, the actual number goes on forever. So couldn't we substitute pi for I? One infinite number is as good as another, right? They're of equal infinite value, so that must be true. So now that all that is established, we can agree that if all operations involving I will result with I, and pi is interchangeable with I, then all math involving pi will result in pi.

Oh and by the way, Dauntless, you have to subtract the same thing from both sides of the equation. You can't subtract x from 10x and then 0.999... from 9.999...

1 = 3/3
1/3 = 0.33333...
1 = 3/3 = 1/3 x 3 = 0.33333.... x 3 = 0.999999999...
.:. 1 = 0.999999....

Fail parasky. Infinite is not interchangeable with Pi. Pi is not an infinite number, it is an irrational number.

Yeah, the amount pi represents isn't infinite, it just has an infinite number of digits.
