Are long term economical policies really better, if constant short turn economical downturns cause so much stress and misery? Far more misery then appreciation generated by the eventual outcome?
If an entire field becomes obsolete, all those people will either have to get jobs that require no training or learn something else while not having a job. Eventually things will statistically even back out, but that is no consolation for the people who lost their jobs. The economy will also suffer in a more general sense because of the domino effect.
On the other hand there is a bunch of money no longer being spent on people who work that now obsolete field and it can be applied elsewhere creating an eventual gain for most people.
Take this and apply it to the world by moving jobs to cheaper countries from more expensive countries and you get the same thing.
A few people in one country suffering, while a few people in another country getting introduced to the mechanics of serfdom with little impact on the actual world, just money getting applied more efficiently resulting in a slight improvement for the world economy, which overtime equal higher quality of life for all.
So which side is the more correct side?
A little misery now for a little bit more happiness later is better or Economic Stagnation is better then making a few people miserable so that everyone is better off later? |
